(Alex Gamero is the owner of DiscoveringBelize.com and has lost count of how many hotels and resorts in Belize he's visited.) Seaside Cabanas is located right in the heart of Caye Caulker village. As you walk off the water taxi dock you can't miss the bright orange and yellow resort. This resort first featured thatched roof cabanas, but suffered a fire that destroyed the property. So when they rebuilt, they opted for cement ceilings adding thatched roofs only as accents in some parts of the property. The pool sits in the center of the property with wooden decks and pool chairs. A 2 story building overlooks the pool towards the sea with shared balcones and several rooms. One of the rooms has 2 bedrooms and a sitting area good for families or groups. The other rooms have either a king bed or 2 double beds. Beside the pool are 4 cabanas each with a rooftop terrace, which make them quite sought after by guests. Across from the front desk you'll find the bar with steps leading to a lounge overlooking the pool and sea. The grounds have coconut trees and a hammock or two. Overall this is a great little resort with a great location, within walking distance to the resturants and bars in the village. The Split is a short 15 minute walk up Front Street. I recommend this resort to anyone who wants a nice tropical resort with a pool in a great location. Couples on a honeymoon or just looking for romantic escpae will particularly like the bechfront cabanas with the rooftop terrace.
